Have an old and a new recommendation. I Finally saw In Bruges w/Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes. LOVED it. It has made me a Colin Farrell convert – his performance was fantastic and it was also nice to see one of my faves Zeljko Ivanek,in a funny cameo. You may know him from his work on the tv series Homicide or even more recently Damages, for which he just won a very richly deserved Emmy award! And just read he’ll now be a major player on next season of Heroes. Go Zeljko!
Speaking of Loved, there’s a French film out here that I’m not sure has made it to the States yet – “I’ve Loved You So Long.” OMG – run, don’t walk to see it. Kristin Scott Thomas better get an Oscar nomination, is all I’m sayin. I don’t think I’ve seen a more breathtaking performance on film. Literally, at the end I don’t think my friend Alison and I were breathing she was just so mesmerizing, as were the other wonderful performances, beautiful writing and gorgeous cinematography!
This afternoon I’m off to begin my London Film Festival Palooza –four films in six days! And then, October 31 will hopefully be more of a treat than a trick as we go see the opening night of the new James Bond film! Will have recaps of all in next blog.
